Exploring the popular Gas Mixing methods

Mixing of two or more gases can be achieved in a variety of ways, here we will explore the most popular ways to create a Gas Mix as summerised below:

1. Static Gas Mixers - Individual standalone Mass Flow Controllers, MFC’s all flowing individual flow rates to create the perfect mix. The Mass Flow Controllers are panel mounted or built into a cabinet.
2. Modular Gas Mixer, here Mass Flow Controllers are supplied with specific Flow Rates for the desired gas, the devices will be connected to Alicat software or the customers uses their own software. Over time if 1 or more gas or flow rates change then this is easily accommodated in this modular system.
3. Fusion Vision Gas Mixer. A Bespoke system where the MFC’s are in an enclosure with or without Fusion Vision Gas Mixer software to control them.

Static Gas Mixers

A very versatile solution is available, simply select a panel or cabinet design, we can assist in the design selection of instruments and offer a fully working solution, this will include the Mass Flow Meters and Controllers, Pressure instrumentation and pipe work from inlet to outlet of the Gas Mixing skid.

Modular Gas Mixing

Stand-alone systems, we have similar setups, each of which can have up to 10 MFCs, plumbed by the customer, any combination from 50 SCCM to 5000 SLPM for each channel:

1. MXM-SA (stand-alone system, no software, just 6 button control panel)
2. MXM-SA with software (stand-alone system, Fusion Flow MXM software run on customer’s Windows computer, and 6 button control panel)
3. MXM-SA-TAB (stand-alone system, Windows Surface Pro tablet and dock, with pre-installed Fusion Flow MXM software, and 6 button control panel)
4. MXM-SA-PC (stand-alone system, Windows Touch Panel PC and open air kickstand, with pre-installed Fusion Flow MXM software, and 6 button control panel)
