CS Instruments VA 520 - Flow meter for compressed air and gases

  • Very low pressure drop
  • For pipe sizes DN8 to DN80
  • Measurement of mass flow with direct output of standard volumetirc flow

The CS Instruments VA-520 air flow meter builds on the CS instruments VA 500. The VA-520 meter utilises the calorimetric measuring principle. Due to their compact design it is possible to monitor all compressed air (or other process gases) data from a system be it the smallest compressed air tool to the actual compressor (DN8 to DN80).

The device is supplied with threaded or flanged inserts to make installation a quick and easy task.

By fitting the sensor with quick release couplings, the VA-520 becomes a mobile service tool for fast local no fuss monitoring.

The measurement electronics can be easily removed from the piping section for periodic maintenance, additionally it can be rotated through 180° if a bi-directional measurement is required

For permanent installation it is possible to transfer data to a building management system or PLC with the 4-20mA output for actual flow.

If totalising is required then the Pulse output (galvanically separated) should be selected from the device.

Digital communications is provided with the standard Modbus RTU (RS 485) interface or the optional Modbus TCP (Ethernet), PoE, M-Bus.

The VA 520 is ideal for monitoring compressed air consumption and system balancing including leak analysis. It is also ideal for monitoring of expensive process gases like nitrogen, CO2, oxygen or argon.

The versatility of the in head display keypad offers a variety of meter selectable values, m³/h, m³/min, l/min, l/s, kg/h, kg/min, kg/s, cfm. There is also a resettable zero for totalised flow via the keypad. The supplied software enables alternative gas selection (nitrogen, oxygen, CO2, and argon) without the need for recalibration.
