The TM Series utilise the Oval Gear method of flow monitoring. The oval gear meter is a positive displacement meter that uses two or more oblong gears configured to rotate at right angles to one another, the teeth of the two gears always mesh. A cavity holds a fixed volume of fluid in a measurement chamber. As the fluid pushes the gears, it rotates them, allowing the fluid in the measurement chamber to be released into the outlet port. This cycle continues as the gears rotate and fluid is metered through alternating measurement chambers. Permanent magnets in the rotating gears transmit a signal through a pickup.
There are only two moving parts and the meshing principle ensures that there is no contact between the gears.
Available in Aluminium, 303 and 316 Stainless Steel these meters have a 10:1 turndown ratio. Standard pressure rating is 28 Bar although a higher rated 173 bar option is also available. Port sizes range from 3/8” to ¾”supporting flows of 1-75 lpm output options offered are Hall Effect, or Reed switch. To complete series a range of Meter mounted displays to show rate and total are also available with a 4-20mA output.
