Alicat Basis 2.0 MEMS thermal mass flow meters are designed with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) in mind. Offering a small footprint, making it ideal for machine placement, benchtop bioreactors or other OEM uses. The Basis 2.0 fits inside the palm of your hand and can be offered with compact, customisable manifolds.

Flow ranges and gases

Basis 2.0 is available with full scale flow rates of 100 / 200 / 500 SCCM or 1 / 2 / 5 / 10 / 20 / 50 / 100 SLPM full scale flow rates. Control an measurement range is within 0.1% – 100% of full scale, thus offering a 1,000:1 turndown ratio.

Basis 2.0 are compatible with 9 user selectable gases out of the box which include Air, N2, O2, CH4, Ar, CO2, N2O, He and H2.

Accuracy and Repeatability

Device accuracy is dependent on full scale and the gas being used with the device.

Process connections and Outputs

  • Available with either RS-232 or RS-485 digital communications.
  • Choice of either 0- 5 VDC or 4 – 20 mA analogue outputs.
  • Process connections are available in two sizes with two options for each.
  • For 100 / 200 / 500 SCCM and 1 / 2 SLPM meters the choice is either 1/8” NPT or SAE 4.
  • For 5 / 10 / 20 / 50 / 100 SLPM meters the choices are 3/8” NPT or SAE 6.
  • Each meter features a status LED to indicate power, serial activity or error state.

Temperature and Pressure

Meters are rated to a maximum pressure of 12 bar gauge (175PSIG) . The ambient and gas temperature range is between 0 and 50°C with a maximum humidity of 95% that is non-condensing. It has an ingression protection rating of IP 40 and has a maximum pressure drop off of up to 30 mbar for meters, dependent on the exact model.
