Alicat ISPC - Intrinsically Safe Pressure Controller

ISPC from Alicat Scientific is their Intrinsically Safe pressure controller for use within Zone 0 environments. The pressure controller can be used with absolute, gauge or differential pressure control processes and is ideal for use with non-corrosive gases.

Pressure range and accuracy

The pressure control range is from 0.07 – 1500 PSI or pressure control applications up to 100 bar! Standard accuracy is to 0.25% of full scale with a high accuracy option available to 0.125% of full scale.

ISPC has a typical warm-up time of less than one second. The sensor response time is less than one millisecond with a typical control response time as fast as 30 milliseconds (T63).

Communications

ISPC series features RS-232 serial communications as standard with optional RS-485 or Modbus RTU (over either RS-232 or RS-485). A traditional analogue 4 – 20 mA output is also available where required for output and set point input control.

Display

All ISPC devices from Alicat come with a backlit monochrome LCD display which displays many of the features such as pressure, setpoint and valve drive percentage.

Turndown ratio

Standard full scale pressure ranges available are 1 / 5 / 15 / 30 / 100 / 500 / 1000 and 1500 PSI, custom pressure ranges are also available. The steady state control range is 0.01 – 100% of full scale pressure range, a 1500 PSI pressure controller would therefore offer an 10 000:1 turndown ratio with a control range of 0.15 – 1500 PSI.

Connections

ISPC is available with a 1/8” or ¼” NPT female process connection.
