We have a complete range of thermowells which can be solid drilled or fabricated as well as RTD probes and thermocouples to various specifications. It doesn’t stop there, as there are many different temperature connection heads available as well as temperature transmitters for direct head mounting or remote mounting via din rail. Temperature switches are available as either purely mechanical or electronic with a local display and digital switched output. Our range covers products for use in safe areas to products which are Ex d rated, offering flameproof protection.

Temperature measurement technologies we offer
PCT supplies sensors, protection hardware and signal conditioning that integrate cleanly with PLC/SCADA/BMS: wireless telemetry, connection heads, thermowells, probes (Pt100/Thermocouple) and loop/HART temperature transmitters—including ATEX/UKCA variants for hazardous areas. The current line‑up spans Status Instruments in‑head/rail devices, wireless receivers/transmitters, panel indication, and custom probes with both fabricated and solid‑drilled thermowells.
Wireless temperature transmitters & receivers
What they are
Low power radio temperature nodes and receivers/gateways for hard to reach points, mobile assets or retrofit jobs. They cut cabling cost/time and push data to PLC/BMS or local receivers.
Examples we support
WRX900 wireless temperature receiver and WTX700 wireless temperature transmitter within the Status family.
Temperature connection heads
What they are
Field enclosures (e.g., DIN B pattern) that protect the terminal block or in head transmitter. Available in aluminium, stainless, plastic and Ex d / flameproof variants; many accept optional display windows.
When to use
Wherever you need IP rated protection, mechanical strength, or hazardous area compliance adjacent to the sensor.
Thermowells (fabricated & solid drilled)
What they are
Process sleeves that isolate the sensor from pressure, flow and media; enable hot swap probe maintenance; and improve mechanical integrity.
Which type?
- Fabricated (welded) for general duties and moderate pressures/velocities.
- Solid drilled (machined from bar) for high pressure, high velocity or vibration; common in steam, utilities and heavy process.
Temperature probes (Pt100 / Thermocouples)
What they are
RTDs (Pt100/Pt1000) for accuracy and stability; Thermocouples (K, J, T, etc.) for high temperatures and fast response (often as mineral insulated inserts).

Temperature transmitters (incl. ATEX)
What they are
In head or rail mount devices that linearise and scale RTD/TC inputs to 4–20mA/HART/Modbus; many allow USB/NFC configuration and range setting.

- In head: SEM210, SEM310, SEM315 (popular universal inputs). Sales threads show regular quoting/fulfilment, so highlight these SKUs and their configuration flexibility.
- ATEX/UKCA options: TTR200X temperature transmitter sets with supplied ATEX certification—ideal for Zone 1/2 installs and simple retrofits.

- Harsh duty (pressure/velocity) or high vibration?: Choose solid drilled thermowell + spring loaded insert; use fabricated for general duty to save cost.
- Hazardous area (Zone 1/2)?: ATEX/UKCA in head transmitter (TTR200X) inside an Ex d or Ex e head.
- Long cable runs or moving equipment?: WTX/WRX wireless pair; land data in the receiver, then 4–20mA/serial into PLC/BMS.
- Need universal input & easy range changes?: SEM210/SEM310/SEM315 in head; configure with SpeedLink per your SOP.
- Panel/bay heat or vibration issues?: Use a rail mount transmitter and keep electronics away from the hot process; head just houses the terminal block.
Frequently asked questions
- Fabricated/welded wells are cost effective for general duties at moderate pressures/velocities.
- Solid drilled wells are machined from bar for high pressure, high velocity or vibration service—our UK deliveries include solid drilled, flanged RTD+thermowell assemblies for heavy process users.
- In head keeps the transmitter at the sensor for tidy cabling and simple retrofits.
- Rail mount puts electronics in a cooler, low vibration panel and leaves only a terminal block in the head—ideal near hot pipework or rotating equipment.
