Ball valves
Designed for use in key markets which include chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and food processing. Other sectors include paper products, tyre and rubber, machinery and electrical equipment, transportation equipment and energy markets.
Brands from within the Richards Industrials group of manufactured valves includes the Jordan Valve, Low Flow and Steriflow brands.
Valves for industrial, sanitary & hygienic service
Premier Control Technologies supplies and supports sanitary/hygienic valves for life‑science and food & beverage, plus industrial regulators and control valves for steam, gas and liquids. Our UK team handles specification, sizing and documentation - backed by the manufacturing depth of Richards Industrials across the Steriflow, Jordan Valve and LowFlow product families.
Bio pharma, clean steam/clean utilities, WFI, gases, and Food & Beverage (dairy, brewing/distilling, soft drinks, personal care). Valves are designed around hygienic construction (316L barstock, electropolish options), self draining geometries, and compliant elastomers—supplied with full material/finish traceability via Unicert. Steriflow’s PTFE based Jorlon™ diaphragms offer chemical resistance with very low creep for long life.
Range overview (selected):
Sanitary pressure & back pressure regulators for clean steam, gases and liquids; air loaded options for PLC integration.
Sanitary control valves for precise flow/pressure/temperature control.
Hygienic valves for F&B: sanitary butterfly/ball/check valves and regulators suited to dairies, distilleries, breweries and beverage lines.
Jordan Valve — industrial regulators & sliding gate control valves
Where it fits
Steam and clean utilities, process gases/liquids, tank blanketing/back pressure control and pneumatic/electric control. Jordan’s signature is the Sliding Gate trim: straight through flow, short stroke, metal to metal seating with Jorcote coating—delivering low droop, fast response, low noise and long seat/packing life vs. conventional globe styles.
Regulators (self op., piloted, air loaded) in our range:
Back pressure/relief: Mark 50 (self op), Mark 56 (air loaded).
Control valves in our range:
Mark 70/707/711 (pneumatic sliding gate control valves) with equal percentage or linear trims; Mark 74 (bellows), Mark 75 (wafer, compact), Series 33/37 (electric & high performance packages).
LowFlow — fractional flow & high pressure globe style control
Where it fits
Pilot plants, OEM skids, labs, test rigs and micro flow processes needing very small Cv and compact actuators. The Mark 708 and Mark 8000 series cover miniature to small line sizes, with in line maintainability, quick change trims and actuator options; builds are available in stainless steels and specialty alloys, up to 6000 psi on some models.
Recent orders for MK708 with positioner/I P show fractional flow demand across the UK & Ireland; include a small “fractional flow” call out on the page.
Main product categories at a glance
Pressure reducing regulators (PRVs) — self operated, air loaded or piloted; sliding gate design for low droop/fast response.
Back pressure & relief regulators (BPRVs/PRVs) — for return lines, relief and process stability; wafer options for larger lines.
Control valves (pneumatic/electric) — sliding gate and compact wafer designs; globe style LowFlow for fractional flows/high pressure.
Sanitary/hygienic regulators & control valves — biopharma & hygienic F&B service with traceable materials/finishes.
Hygienic ancillary valves — sanitary butterfly/ball/check and sample valves for process skids and packaging lines.
Steam service — sliding gate PRVs and temperature regulators; delta element steam traps available in the broader Richards portfolio.
Help me choose (quick guide on our product range)
Steam header or plant utility pressure control: Jordan Valve Mark 60 (self operated PRV). Choose Mark 66 if you want PLC set point, or Mark 67 for piloted accuracy on dynamic loads
Return line stability / constant upstream pressure: Mark 50 (self op BPRV); add Mark 56 (air loaded) if the DCS should trim set point.
Compact control valve with high rangeability: Mark 70/707/711 (pneumatic sliding gate) or Mark 75 wafer for tight spaces/low air use.
Fractional flow (pilot plant/OEM/labs): LowFlow Mark 708; for higher pressures or up to 2″ line size, see Mark 8000
Bio pharma / clean steam / WFI: Steriflow sanitary regulators & control valves with Unicert documentation and Jorlon™ diaphragm.
Sliding gate trims give straight through flow, short stroke and metal to metal Jorcote coated seats—reducing turbulence, droop and noise while extending seat life. Smaller actuators cut air consumption and envelope size.
Start with Mark 60 (self operated). If you need remote setpoint from a PLC/DCS, choose Mark 66 (air loaded). For maximum accuracy on variable loads, Mark 67 (piloted) is the typical choice.
Use a back pressure regulator (e.g., Mark 50/56/57). It maintains a set pressure upstream of the valve by throttling the return path—ideal for return headers, relief and reactor pressure control.
LowFlow (e.g., Mark 708) provides fractional flow Cv options in compact bodies with quick change trims; Mark 8000 extends to higher pressures and up to 2″ line sizes.
Yes—Unicert (material certs, surface finish, FDA/USP elastomer statements) is standard on Steriflow orders; each unit is serialised for full traceability.
Yes—Jordan provides temperature controllers/regulators (e.g., MK12, MK11, accessories such as wells and loading stations) for heat exchange and utility duties.
