Jordan Valve Mark 50 Series Self Operated Back Pressure Regulator

The Mark 50 series is a self-operated back pressure regulator capable of operating between 0.03 bar and 10.3 bar for the MK50 and for higher pressure the MK50HP can have a set point of 5.2 to 31 bar.

Process

As the direction of disk travel is perpendicular to the flow it means that the seats are not unbalanced as the flow goes straight- through the body and valve seats. No special tools are required to disassemble the Mark 50 and seats are pre-lapped and self-lapping whilst in operation meaning minimum maintenance.

The sliding gate design helps to improve the trim life and the short stroke of the gates provide a fast response to process conditions changing which reduces offsets in pressure. The plate and disc of the seats are in constant contact which removes chattering and minimises operation noise.

Materials

A variety of materials are available in construction with the body being manufactured from ductile iron, bronze, Carbon steel, stainless steel and cast iron. The diaphragm of the Mark 50 can be Jorlon, stainless steel, Buna-N and Viton.

Certifications and sizes

Available end connections include threaded, flanged, socket and butt welds. Sizes go from ¼” up to 4” and the device has been ATEX certified, and the shutoff is rated to ANSI Class IV.
