- Sliding gate design provides a tight shutoff and quiet operation
- Constant differential between inlet pressure and pressure loaded to the top of the diaphragm
- Setpoint range of 0.5 to 170psi (0.03 to 11.7 bar)
The Mark 53 and Mark 54 differential back pressure regulators by Jordan valve feature the same sliding gate seat design, however the larger diaphragm in the Mark 54 allows for it to have less offset in pressure at the same flow rate. The unique seat design enables more efficient operation with less noise and a shorter stroke for faster responses and improved regulation.
Applications
Commonly used applications for these regulators include fuel oil burner control and other ranges of utility industries.
Pressure and temperature ranges
The Mark 53 has a large pressure set point range of 0.5-150 psi (0.03 to 10.3 bar) whilst the Mark 54 can have larger pressure of up to 170 psi (11.7 bar). The maximum temperature for the regulators is up to 232°C.
Body and materials
A range of materials are available during construction with body materials being Ductile Iron, Bronze, Carbon steel and stainless steel. Diaphragms are manufactured from Jorlon, Stainless Steel, Buna-N or Viton with end connections being either threaded, flanged or socket/butt welds. Optional extras include a double diaphragm, flow through dome or handwheel.
Sizes and Cv
Sizes vary as the Mark 53 ranges from ¼" up to 2" and the Mark 54 being sized between ¼" and ¾". The sliding gate seat ensures a tight shutoff which is given an ANSI Class IV rating and allows for easily interchangeable Cv’s.
