Jordan Valve Mark 56 and Mark 560 Series Air Loaded Back Pressure Regulator

The Mark 56/560 series is an air loaded back pressure regulator that is operated by a static air line at the top of the diaphragm. This means that when combined with an extended range I/P converter it can be used remotely or manually controlled with a MK12 loading station.

Rangeability

A rangeability of 40:1 means that it can be used in a range of applications to include steam, liquids and chemicals. Cv ratings can go up to 395 depending on construction of the device.

Body, seat and trim materials

The body is constructed from ductile iron, bronze DN15-50, carbon steel, stainless steel and cast iron (DN65-150). Trim materials include 303SS for DI, CL, BRZ and CS bodies and 316 for the SS body. The seat can be either Jorcote or SST.

Diaphragm materials

A range of diaphragm materials are available including stainless steel as standard, Buna-nitrile, Viton and Jorcote all of which have a maximum temperature of 232°C apart from Buna-nitrile which is 93°C.

No gaskets or O-Rings are needed on devices under 2" (DN50) which reduces the maintenance costs as inside the regulator it is metal to metal contact. Sizes of the Mark 56 go from ½" up to 6" or DN15 through to DN150.

The sliding gate seats mean that the flow goes straight through the valve which means that less turbulence is experienced during operation which gives means less chattering and longer seat life. It also provides a tight shut off when the plate and disk overlap and is ANSI Class IV.
