The Mark 93 series thermostatic steam trap operates at medium to high flow. They are commonly used in bioreactors, pure steam SIP applications and filtration equipment.
A low subcooling design keeps it below 2°C which helps to prevent condensate from remaining in the system which will prevent the temperature sensor from cooling. The design allows for many installation orientations and when the trap is in the ideal vertical position it can be self-draining.
Two designs of the 93 series are available depending on the differential pressures. The standard MK93 is recommended to operate within a differential pressure window of up to 50psi (3.4 bar) while the optional MK93 “P” has a recommended differential pressure of 45-90psi (3.1 to 6.2). The maximum pressure rating of the design is 145psig (10bar) and the maximum operating temperature is 177°C.
All of the housing and internals are manufactured using 316L stainless steel. The interior of the steam trap has been mechanically polished to 20Ra whilst the exterior has also been mechanically polished to 40Ra.
The available steam trap sizes are ½", ¾", 1" and 1½" while the ends are sanitary clamp as standard but can be requested to be tube weld, threaded, ISO/DIN.
Standard gaskets are PTFE/Viton however they can be PTFE/EPDE, Tuf-Steel, Silverback and PTFE.
The Steriflow Mark 93 Series Sanitary Steam Traps is widely used in the following industries:
